Panel Discussion - Nurturing Positive Racial Identity in Afro-descent Children

  • Coal Mine Cafe 1 Turnerstrasse Winterthur, ZH, 8400 Switzerland (map)

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming panel discussion titled "Nurturing Positive Racial Identity in Afro-descent Children," part of our Loving Me Workshop series, taking place at Coal Mine Cafe.

Moderated by Pamela Ohene-Nyako and featuring Motsabi Rooper, Ify Odenigbo, and Danielle Isler, this discussion will unpack the important aspects of nurturing a positive racial identity among Afro-descent children living in Europe, drawing upon the lived experiences and expertise of our panelists.

As parents and caregivers, we recognise the profound impact of race and ethnicity on young minds. This interactive session will explore effective strategies for fostering self-esteem, resilience, and pride among children of Black and Mixed racial backgrounds.

Whether you're a parent, caregiver, or educator, this panel discussion offers invaluable insights and practical guidance to empower the next generation of resilient individuals.

Hosted by Afro Swiss Families as part of the Afro Pfingsten program and supported by "ici. here together" and Coal Mine Cafe, this event promises an enlightening discussion and an opportunity to engage with and learn from experts.
