Afro-Pfingsten - Afro Swiss Families Pop Up Library

  • Bistro 3 Liebestrasse Winterthur, ZH, 8400 Switzerland (map)

Come check out the Afro Swiss Families Pop-up Library at Afro-Pfingsten, open from May 18th to 20th! We've curated a fantastic collection of books that celebrate Afro-decent experiences across all ages, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy.

As parents and caregivers of Afro-descent children, we understand the challenges of finding resources that accurately represent our varied and nuanced lived experiences and cultures. That's why we're dedicated to creating a centralized collection of books that been carefully selected for their socio-educational value and relevance to our community.

Our collection covers a range of topics, including race and culture, whimsy, everyday life, history, and identity. We believe it's essential for our children to see themselves represented in literature, so we prioritise selecting books by Black or Multiracial authors featuring characters of diverse backgrounds. We hope these books will help our children develop a positive sense of identity and self-worth and provide parents with tools for meaningful conversations on important topics.

The library is an extension of digital resources archive we are currently building out, you can access current version on the website - Resources.

Don't miss out on this amazing literary experience at the Afro Swiss Families Pop-up Library during Afro Pfingsten – it's going to be a blast!
