Afro Swiss Families is back for our fourth year at Afro Pfingsten and happy to once again be part of the Family Day programming on Sunday, 24 May 2026 at Alte Kaserne Kulturzentrum.

For this year’s interactive reading session, we will be reading Deckel drauf und aufbewahrt – Wie Frida ihre schönsten Erinnerungen bewahren wollte by Vera Brosgol, a beautifully illustrated story about a little girl named Frida who tries to save all the things she loves, only to discover that some memories are best carried with us rather than stored away.

After the reading, children will decorate and personalise their own Memory Jars using paints and craft materials. Each child will leave with a small keepsake of the afternoon and a reminder of the memories and moments they hold close.

Registration is not required, as this is a public event taking place as part of the main Afro Pfingsten 2026 programme.
