2026 Community Support Campaign — Goal: CHF 10,000
In 2026, Afro Swiss Families enters its fourth year — a crucial turning point in sustaining the village we have built together. This campaign invites our community, parents, caregivers, allies, diaspora, and supporters to contribute towards keeping this space alive, resourced, and accessible. Our goal is to raise CHF 10,000 in community support to continue offering affirming programs, gatherings, creative experiences, and connection for Afro-European children and families living in Switzerland.
Afro Swiss Families is entering its fourth year — a crucial turning point in sustaining the village we have built together. As the only organisation in Switzerland dedicated to creating joyful, affirming spaces for Afro-European children and their families, our work is both essential and deeply community-driven.
From Meet & Play gatherings to workshops, cultural celebrations, and creative programs, our mission is to ensure that Afro-European children see themselves reflected, feel a sense of belonging, and grow within a supportive, culturally rooted environment. In just three years, we have welcomed over 1,555 parents, caregivers, children, and allies across 45 events — from monthly Meet & Play dates to community dinners, workshops, and caregiver gatherings.
Why We Need Your Support
In our first year, our founders invested CHF 10,000 to establish this community. For the past two years, the ICI Gemeinsam Hier grant provided CHF 10,000 annually, allowing us to expand our programming and keep most of our events free and accessible. Over the past two years, twenty families have donated CHF 2,300 per year, demonstrating the belief and shared commitment that power this organisation.
As we move into 2026, institutional grants are becoming increasingly competitive. This community campaign complements our ongoing applications to external funders and helps ensure our programs remain strong, accessible, and rooted in the needs of our communities.
